Underwater sounds: whale song, deep sea and sonar
Below the surface everything changes: sound turns muffled, slow and close, as if the world had pulled a blanket over you. This small collection has three recordings. Deep underwater is a dense, rounded wash with no sharp edges. Whale song adds long, mournful calls that rise and fall over the deep. Echoing sonar sends out a lonely ping that fades into the distance, for a touch of submarine mystery.
Underwater sounds suit moments when you want to feel completely enclosed and far away from your desk or bed: an afternoon nap, a long soak in the bath, creative work that needs a dreamy mood, or a sci-fi game night. They also make a gentler alternative to brown noise, since the deep-water bed is similarly low but more organic.
Start with deep underwater as the base, then add whale song a little lower so the calls drift in and out. Use the sonar sparingly and quietly, or its regular ping starts to draw attention. The cave reverb and the dynamic 3D mode make the space feel even bigger.

Frequently asked questions
Is whale song good for falling asleep?
Many people like it, because the calls are slow and far apart. Others find the rise of a call too noticeable. If that is you, lower the whale song well below deep underwater, or leave it out and add gentle waves instead. A sleep timer with fade-out ends the session softly.
What can I mix with underwater sounds?
Gentle waves or the ocean from the nature category make a natural pair, joining the surface with the deep. A singing bowl or the 432 Hz wave works for meditation, and brown noise underneath thickens the bed. Up to 10 layers can play at once.
