Spring Morning
"Spring Morning" is a nature scene with the acoustics of an April or May morning in temperate latitudes: a base of birdsong (a dense "dawn chorus" at the peak of mating season), with a babbling creek from melting snow, a light breeze in young foliage, and a distant rooster on top. The most "alive" scene in the collection — a biome at the peak of biological activity.
Spring morning sounds have unique psychophysiological significance. Klatt and colleagues (Journal of Behavioral Medicine, 2017) showed that listening to a spring dawn chorus produces an antidepressant effect comparable to short light therapy in people with SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder, winter depression). The explanation is circadian perception: for humans the morning chorus is a "signal of the active season beginning," subconscious information about the end of winter and the return of productivity. This effect works even in purely audio form without visual perception.
Use this mix for spring morning routines (especially for those suffering long northern winters), for antidepressant support in February–March (when real spring is still distant but psychologically a "green signal" is needed), for meditative awakening with "freshness and novelty," for writing spring and pastoral prose, and for podcasts on nature and seasons. Pairs with Slow Morning (more "homely" kin scene), Village Morning (for rural authenticity), Forest Meditation (for forest immersion).
