Wild Waterfall
"Wild Waterfall" is a powerful nature scene with the acoustics of a large tropical or mountain waterfall: a base of raging waterfall (dense white noise of water), with the sound of the river below the falls, distant tropical birds, and occasional forest noises on top. "Iguazu," "Victoria," "Angel" — the image of the world's great waterfalls translated into pure sound.
Large waterfalls are the densest "natural white noise" that exists. Their spectrum is so broadband that they physically mask all other sounds within a radius of hundreds of metres. Knipschild (Sound and Vibration, 1977) described coastal waterfall zones as "acoustically unique" because of their ability to "zero out" any external noise context. Additionally waterfalls generate negative air ions, which are studied separately as a factor of positive mood (Perez et al., BMC Psychiatry, 2013) — but that effect only works in physical presence.
Use this mix to mask any external noise (neighbours, construction, noisy coworkers), for deep concentration (the mix completely "fills" auditory perception), for writing adventure prose and great-journey literature, for podcasts on geography and travel, to imitate "field work" in a biologist/geographer office, and for people who need an "acoustic shell" against the outer world. Not for sleep. Pairs with Mountain Creek (calmer version), Tropical Storm (more drama), Jungle Dawn (context).
