Pregnancy Relax
"For Pregnant Women" is a therapeutic mix for expectant mothers: a base of muffled underwater hum (imitating the acoustics of amniotic fluid), with 60 bpm Drum B (the maternal heartbeat for the baby) and 432 Hz on top. The "uterine memory" mix — an acoustic environment very close to what a foetus hears in the womb.
The prenatal acoustic environment is one of the most studied topics in perinatal psychology. Hepper and colleagues (Lancet, 1992) showed that from 24–26 weeks of gestation the foetus hears and remembers sounds, and newborns in their first days prefer exactly the sounds they heard in the womb. DeCasper and Fifer (Science, 1980) documented that infants can recognise the maternal voice and heartbeat from birth. The mix is "tuned" to recreate this primary acoustic environment: low-frequency hum + heartbeat-type rhythm = a calming effect for both mother and foetus.
Use this mix for pregnant women for daily relaxation (especially in the third trimester when load is maximal), to prepare for birth (the mix can serve as a "familiar sound" during contractions), during birth (in agreement with the midwife), for the first days with a newborn (the mix reproduces the familiar uterine environment, soothing the baby), for women with anxiety during pregnancy, and for those preparing for IVF or pregnancy. Pairs with Baby Sleep (post-birth), Ocean (to amplify water), For Panic (kin rhythm). A safe mix — no triggers and no sharp sounds.
