Yoga Flow
"Yoga Flow" is a balanced sports mix for Vinyasa Flow-style yoga: a base of 68 bpm rhythm (slow, breath-paced), with 432 Hz, singing bowl and the distant babbling of a creek on top. "Morning yoga session in the studio" — an image of contemporary wellness culture.
Vinyasa Flow is a style of yoga in which each asana is connected to breath in a single flow (vinyasa = "joining into one"). The 68 bpm tempo is close to the natural rhythm of calm breathing (about 12–14 breaths per minute, giving 5 beats per inhale-exhale cycle). Synchronisation between movement, breath and music creates the state of "flow" (Csikszentmihalyi, 1990), which many yogis describe as the main psychological effect of the practice. Goldsby and colleagues (2017) showed that adding singing bowls to bodily practice amplifies the anti-stress effect by 30%.
Use this mix for Vinyasa Flow or Hatha yoga practice (moderate intensity), for home yoga sessions (when a studio is unreachable), for Pilates with a meditative component, for tai chi and qigong, for post-cardio stretching (cool-down), and for meditative morning warm-up. Session length: 30–60 minutes. Pairs with Slow Stretch (cool-down), Morning Meditation (spiritual context), Sound Bath (post-session). Not for intense training.
