Drum beat 94 bpm B

94 bpm Drum, variant B — same tempo as A (about 1.57 Hz) but with a two-voice texture: a main drum on each quarter and a syncopated kick accent on the "and" of beats 2 and 4. The structure resembles a funk groove in the spirit of James Brown or Fela Kuti's Afrobeat, and the rhythm feels "dance" rather than "march." Polyrhythmic complication gives the brain that "lightly unpredictable" optimum of musical pleasure described by Vuust and Witek (Frontiers in Psychology, 2014).

Biomechanically, 94 bpm with a dance syncopation is an ideal tempo for most HIIT (high intensity interval training) sessions, and many commercial fitness tracks are tuned in this range. Karageorghis in Inside Sport Psychology (Human Kinetics, 2017) singles out 94 bpm as a "universal motivational-music tempo": fast enough to maintain energy, slow enough not to cause tachycardia in untrained listeners.

Use this track for dance workouts, home parties, active running (most people at 94 bpm run at about 5:30–6:00/km), for podcasts with energetic interviews, for breaking out of creative deadlock, and for writing dynamic scenes. Pairs with Taiko B, 94 bpm Drum A, Tribal Chants. Not suitable for any task that demands calm, concentration or sleep — by nature a "motor" track.
