0432 Hz wave
The 432 Hz harmonic wave is a long sustained sinusoidal tone with overtones tuned to a reference of A4 = 432 Hz instead of the modern musical standard A4 = 440 Hz. This is a small deviation (about 32 cents, less than a semitone), but esoteric and psychoacoustic literature regularly describes it as "warmer" and "more natural." Historically 432 Hz was indeed used as a reference by part of the 19th-century European composing community before the standard was unified in 1939 (Hutchins, Acoustics of Violin Plates, 1981).
Objective neuroscience does not yet confirm any mystical properties specifically of 432 — the double-blind study by Kvist et al. (Frontiers in Psychology, 2022) found no statistically significant difference in subjective pleasantness between 440 and 432 Hz. However, prolonged listening to pure tonal material does produce measurable effects: Helen Bonny's Guided Imagery and Music methodology (1978) showed that sustained harmonic tones facilitate a state of "deep relaxed focus" in which visualisation is easier and cognitive load is reduced.
Use this track for yoga, meditation, sound bath, psychotherapy sessions, sleep preparation, and long (90+ min) focus work where you need a maximally neutral, event-free acoustic floor. The track works very well as an "acoustic pedestal" on which other sounds can be layered. Pairs with Singing Bowl, Om Mantra, Whale Song. Not suitable for people who tolerate prolonged tonal stimuli poorly — for some it can intensify tinnitus.
