Mountain Top
"Mountain Summit" is a meditative mix with the acoustics of a solitary mountain peak: a base of whistling wind (the characteristic high-altitude sound of thin air), with a distant gong and 432 Hz on top. A scene from Tibetan pilgrimages — Kailash, Everest base camp, the Austrian Alps, the Swiss Jungfrau plateau — the image of a spiritual ascent.
The mountain as a symbol of the spiritual path is present in all world religions: Sinai in Judaism, Golgotha in Christianity, Kailash in Hinduism and Buddhism, Olympus in the Hellenic tradition. Physiologically, climbing to altitude causes hypoxia (oxygen deprivation), which in moderate form (at 2000–3500 m) activates endorphin and serotonin production — what Heberlein and colleagues (High Altitude Medicine & Biology, 2008) described as "altitude euphoria." The mix does not reproduce hypoxia (impossible), but emulates the acoustic context that triggers the "mountain" emotional pattern.
Use this mix for "summit and achievement" meditation, for those planning an ascent or returning from a mountain trek, for writing mountain prose (Mann's "The Magic Mountain," Hesse's "The Glass Bead Game," Krakauer's "Into Thin Air"), to prepare for major life decisions, for people in spiritual search, and for yoga with an "elevation" theme. Pairs with Winter Tale (winter mountain), Mountain Creek (summer variant), Mountain Cabin (the "homely" descent).
