Singing Bowl Bath
"Sound Bath" is a meditative mix in the modern "sound bath" therapy tradition: a base of singing bowl (long overtone strikes), with melodic gong (powerful low-frequency strikes), 432 Hz and quiet Tibetan chanting on top. This is not a short meditation but a full "sound bathing" — enveloping body and consciousness in sound for 30–90 minutes.
The "sound bath" is a relatively young (1970s) wellness practice rooted in ancient traditions of Tibetan monasteries and Indian ashrams. The modern scientific basis is the work of Goldsby and colleagues (Journal of Evidence-Based Complementary & Alternative Medicine, 2017): a randomised study with 62 participants using Himalayan singing bowls and gongs showed statistically significant reductions in anxiety, anger, fatigue and depressed mood after a 60-minute session. The effect is stronger than simple relaxation or short meditation, and comparable to deep massage.
Use this mix for long self-directed sound-therapy sessions at home, for people without access to a professional sound bath studio, for yoga nidra, for those recovering from serious stress or burnout, for "total dissolution in sound" meditation, and for those who practise "mindful listening" — meditation through aware listening. Length: minimum 30 minutes, optimum 60–90. Pairs with Tibetan Practice (to amplify), Seaside Meditation (natural variation), Healing Frequencies (esoteric context).
